2010 exams and 2009
2009 eoy painting. omg. time flies
print making
EXAMS ARE COMING SOON.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY IM DOING THIS NOW,. ARGHHHHHHHAND I NEED TO CHIONG NYAA!!!!
thi
this is how art can be found in our daily lives. LOL. halfway through eating yammy yoghurt! and this is a flower bud!!!!!!!! hahahaha
the few pics below are snapshots of print making, using acrylic sheets and a shoon (isit?) to etch on it/scratch it. the tone depends on the pressure used to scratch it. its a picture of london town, from when i went to london for the aep trip(i miss the trip!!!)
first try, testing print. its kinda light
2nd try, its darking cause i used more strength to scratch the acrylic sheet (make improvements based on the previous print)
3rd try, its darker than the second print. same thing, adjusted the tones based on 2nd print
this is the final one.
basically, its about the same as wood carving but not really the same. because this is a transparent acrylic sheet, first we sketch the drawing on a piece of paper, brief outline, the tones just do straight away on the acrylic sheet. then tape the drawing behind the sheet then start scratching! then using the printing ink, the one we use for wood printing, just roll it over (everything will be black cause the scratches are too thin) then using a cloth (bundle it) wipe the ink off(this is a tedious and tiring process cause the ink is super sticky, must use strength!!!) there will be ink in the scratches, and then wet another piece of paper and dry it slightly with a cloth, place the wet paper over the acrylic sheet, put it into the roller thingy (we have it in the art room, the big manual printer) and done.
this 2 piece are another way of print making, monoprints, if im not wrong
take a normal piece of acrylic sheet and roll a thin and even layer of print ink. then place a paper over and just draw on the paper. then ink will be transferred onto the paper, its v easy :Dfor the camera shot (based on a badge design) it was only after printing that i realised that the words are laterally inverted, so for the marine lobsters print, i had to write out the inverted words first haha, in case i write wrongly. oh ya, these prints are a one time print. means if its not nice, too bad, redo. haha"
update: this form of print making is called drypoint!!
